Scenario Simulation Beta

Test the change before you make it.

Run a proposed decision against the portfolio you actually hold and score it against the objective you set. Historical data shows what it would have done. A projected range shows where it could go.

Why it exists

A decision needs a rehearsal before it becomes real.

Most investing decisions get made once quickly, on incomplete information, and again months later in hindsight.

Charts explain the past. News describes the present. Generic projection tools start from an idealized portfolio that is not yours. Nothing in that stack checks the change you are already considering against the positions you already hold.

Scenario Simulation is the rehearsal. Describe the change, set the objective and examine the result before any of it is real.

Decision rehearsal

Your portfolio. Your objective. Two distinct methods.

01

It starts from your objective.

Set the purpose of the scenario—growth, income, capital preservation or a risk level. The result is scored against fit with that objective, not raw return alone.

02

It runs on what you already own.

The scenario accounts for your connected positions, including existing concentration and sector overlap, rather than testing a clean hypothetical in isolation.

03

It separates past from possible.

Historical replay uses real past price and volume data. Forward projection presents a probabilistic range. The two methods remain visibly distinct.

Illustrative sample

One proposed change, viewed through past and possible.

The example separates what happened in real historical data from a probabilistic forward-looking range. It does not present either result as a recommendation.

Proposed change

Reduce the portfolio’s largest position by ten percent.

Objective

Capital preservation.

Historical replay

What the market actually did.

Historical replay applies the described change to real past price and volume data over a stated date range. It is not a forecast and does not indicate future performance.

Forward projection

A range, not a prediction.

Forward projection models a range of possible outcomes from current conditions. It is probabilistic, and the range is shown instead of a single certain figure.

Coming next

The comparison and retention loop.

These capabilities are in build and are not represented as available today.

In build

Action versus inaction

The proposed change and the version where nothing changed, compared on the same data and objective.

In build

Scenario history

Saved simulations that can be revisited later to examine how the original thinking held up.

In build

Multi-scenario comparison

Several versions of one idea tested in parallel against the same portfolio state.

Features

Bring more context into the rehearsal.

Scenario Simulation

The decision you are already considering. Rehearse it first.
